GREGORY A. LLACER, GLOBAL DIRECTOR OF AMGEN SCHOLARS

As founding director of what is now the Harvard College Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships (URAF) in 2010, Greg Llacer stewarded the Amgen Scholars Program at Harvard University, and then became the Global Director in 2018.   In addition, Greg concurrently served as the director of the Harvard College Program for Research in Science and Engineering (PRISE) from its inception in 2005 through 2023. 

Along with his Harvard and Amgen Scholars responsibilities, Greg also led the paper submission review process as editorial chair of the national Mellon Mays Undergraduate Research Journal; he continues his work as a consultant with the LCLO Group for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Future of Work Fellows Program. Greg is the recipient of the 2023 Winston Churchill Foundation Advisor Award.

Prior to his appointment as URAF director, Greg undertook several administrative management roles in the Office of the President and Provost, the College, and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST). Before his 2004 Cambridge arrival, Greg spent the first 16 years of his administrative career at the University of California, San Diego, lastly as senior research policy analyst for the vice chancellor of research.  Greg received an AB degree from San Diego State University in liberal studies with an emphasis on education, and conducted postgraduate study at UCSD and SDSU in language policy and cross-cultural education.
